Why did my monthly payment fail?

This article is for Marshmallow customers who pay monthly and have experienced a failed payment.

Updated this week

Common reasons your payment may fail

  1. Insufficient funds
There may not have been enough money in your account at the time we attempted to take payment.

  2. Card on file has expired
If the card linked to your Marshmallow account is no longer valid, the payment won’t go through.

  3. Payment was blocked by your bank
Sometimes your bank may block a payment due to security checks or account restrictions. If you're unsure, it's best to contact your bank directly for clarification.

What happens after a failed payment?

If your payment fails, Marshmallow will automatically retry the payment:

  • 3 days after the failed attempt

  • 7 days after the failed attempt

You don’t need to contact us to request a retry — it happens automatically.

How to update your card

If your card details need updating, you can do so in the Manage Payments section of your Marshmallow app.
