How do I meet the Marshmallow Go tracking requirement?

This article is for Marshmallow Go customers who want to make sure they stay eligible for their Go plan and keep their discount.

Updated over a week ago

To stay on Marshmallow Go, you’ll need to share a certain amount of driving data with us. Don’t worry—it’s easier than it sounds, and we’ll walk you through it below.

What is the tracking requirement?

You’ll need to share at least 4 weeks of driving data in the first 6 months of your policy.

  • The 4 weeks don’t have to be in a row

  • You only need to complete one tracked drive in a week for it to count

  • Tracking must be switched on in the app during those weeks

How to make sure your drives count

To help the app track your drives correctly:

  • Keep location and motion permissions switched on for the Marshmallow app

  • Avoid closing the app fully—it works best in the background

  • Make sure your phone is charged and has signal before each trip

  • Drive with your phone in a secure spot like a phone mount, cup holder, or pocket

What happens if I don’t meet the 4-week rule?

If not enough data is shared in the first 6 months:

  • You’ll be moved to the non-Go version of your plan

  • Your price may go up slightly for the rest of your policy

  • You won’t be able to switch back to Go until your next renewal

We’ll send you a heads-up if this is about to happen.

Top tips to stay on track

  • Aim to drive at least once a week with the app tracking

  • Check permissions are enabled—especially after app or phone updates

  • Keep your phone charged during drives

  • Use a phone mount or holder to keep your device stable

Not sure if your app is tracking properly? You can check your recent drives in the app—or just reach out to us if you need help.
