What should I do if I’ve given the wrong information by mistake?

This article is for Marshmallow customers who realise they’ve entered incorrect details on their policy.

Updated today

Mistakes happen—and we understand that. If you think you’ve given us the wrong information, the most important thing is to tell us straight away so we can help fix it.

What kind of mistakes might affect my policy?

Some common examples include:

  • Wrong occupation or job title

  • Incorrect address or postcode

  • Missed previous claims or motoring convictions

  • Adding the wrong vehicle or registration number

These details directly affect your insurance risk. If they’re wrong, your cover could be invalid.

Will I be penalised for correcting my mistake?

Not if you tell us as soon as possible. We know it’s easy to click the wrong option or miss something important. Being proactive helps protect your cover.

Depending on the change, we might need to adjust your premium or policy terms—but we’ll always explain this clearly.

If the mistake means we can’t cover you, we’ll let you know and help you find the best next steps.

How can I update my details?

You can update many things in your Marshmallow app, including your car, address, mileage, and job title. If you’re not sure how to fix something, just speak to our customer support team - we’re happy to guide you through it.
