This article is for Marshmallow policyholders planning to drive their vehicle outside the UK for holiday or personal use.

Updated over a week ago

Am I covered to drive abroad?

Yes — Marshmallow policies include automatic minimum legal cover (also known as third-party only) when driving abroad. This means you're covered for:

  • Damage to another person’s car or property

  • Injuries caused to other people

However, you won’t be covered for:

  • Damage to your own car

  • Theft of your car

  • Any personal injury

How long can I drive abroad for?

This depends on your plan:

Days of cover abroad per policy term

Lightest

30 days

Essential, Original, Plus

90 days

If you need to stay longer, you can request an extension. Keep reading for details on how to do that.
