Can other people drive my Marshmallow-insured car?

Other people are not automatically covered to drive your car under your Marshmallow policy.

  • Only named drivers listed on your policy are insured to drive your vehicle.

  • You can add additional drivers to a car policy, but this is not possible for van policies.

  • If someone drives your car without being a named driver on your policy, they will not be covered by Marshmallow insurance.

If another driver already has their own insurance, can they drive my car?

Some car insurance policies include a feature called Driving Other Cars (DOC). This usually provides basic third-party cover only, which means:

  • It is only valid if your car already has its own primary insurance policy.

  • It does not cover damage to your car.

  • If the driver causes an accident, you would need to pay for repairs or replacement of your vehicle.
