We have different useage options available.

For car, your options when you sign up are:

Just social
(also known as ‘social, domestic and pleasure’, or SDP)

  • Cover yourself, and any other drivers named on the policy, to drive outside of working hours. e.g to visit friends and family, go shopping, run errands, or travel. Anything that doesn’t involve work.

I drive to and from work
(Also known as ‘social, domestic, pleasure and commuting’, or SDPC)

  • All the above, plus cover to commute to and from a fixed place of work. So if you travel to the same place every day (an office, a store, or anywhere else that doesn’t change frequently), this one’s for you

  • We offer this as standard on all policies at no extra cost

I use it for work (Business Class 1)
(Cover for business use, also known as Business Class 1, 2 and 3)

  • We only offer Business Class 1 for cars (which includes social use and commuting)

  • Business Class 1 covers travel to and from multiple places of work

  • Covers you, and a spouse or partner named on the policy for business use. All other drivers named on the policy will be covered for social and commuting only

  • Does not cover courier or delivery drivers, people that carry work-related tools (like salespeople or tradespeople), or people who use their car during working hours

It’s a commercial vehicle
We do not offer Commercial cover - yet!

  • Commercial use covers private hire taxis, driving instructors, couriers & delivery drivers

  • If you use your vehicle for this kind of work, you’ll need to find cover with someone else (but check back in with us next year)

  • If you use your vehicle for this kind of work without the relevant cover, we won’t be able to pay out for any claim. It may also count as an offence, and might count against you when you buy insurance in the future

For van, your options when you sign up are:
