Can I add Breakdown Cover to my Marshmallow policy?

For customers who are either getting a quote or already have a policy with Marshmallow and want to know if they can include Breakdown Cover.

If you are getting a quote

You can choose to add Breakdown Cover when you get a quote on the Marshmallow website or through a comparison site.

On the Marshmallow website:

  • Once you’ve entered your details and received a quote, you’ll see the option to add Breakdown Cover.

  • Your price will update instantly to reflect the addition.

  • You can choose between Roadside, National, or European cover through the AA.

  • Before you pay, you’ll be shown a summary confirming Breakdown Cover is included.

On a comparison site:

  • You’ll see an option to add Breakdown Cover on the results page.

  • When redirected to Marshmallow, make sure to reselect Breakdown Cover before you buy.

  • You will not be charged twice—just once for the cover shown at checkout.

Note: Marshmallow Plus includes AA Roadside Breakdown Cover as standard. If you choose Marshmallow Plus, you’ll be able to upgrade your cover to National or European during the quote process.


If you already have a quote

You can still add Breakdown Cover by:

  • View your saved quote.

  • Selecting Breakdown Cover before completing your purchase.


If you already have a Marshmallow policy

Unfortunately, Breakdown Cover can’t be added mid-policy.

You have two options:

  • Get separate breakdown cover directly from the AA or another provider.

  • Cancel your policy and start a new one with Breakdown Cover added.

    • A £30 admin fee applies if you cancel within the first 14 days of your policy.
