What phones and operating systems work with Marshmallow Go?

This article is for Marshmallow Go customers who want to know if their phone is compatible with the app-based cover.

Updated over a week ago

To use Marshmallow Go, your phone must meet certain technical requirements. The Marshmallow Go app uses your phone's sensors to monitor and reward safe driving—so the right device setup is essential.

Minimum phone and OS requirements

You’ll need one of the following:

  • iPhone

    • Must be running iOS 15 or later

    • This includes iPhone 6s and newer models

  • Android

    • Must be running Android 8 or later

    • Must have Google Play Services installed and enabled

If your phone doesn’t meet these requirements, you won’t be able to take out or continue with an app-based cover policy.

Required phone sensors

Your phone also needs to have:

  • An accelerometer (to detect motion)

  • GPS (for location tracking)

All iPhones include these sensors. Most Android phones do as well, but if you’re unsure, please check your phone’s specifications on the manufacturer’s website.
