What Is a Vehicle Modification?
A vehicle modification refers to any change made to your car after it was manufactured. This includes:
Adding new features (e.g. a towbar or parking sensors)
Altering the appearance (e.g. tinted windows)
Adjusting performance or structural components (e.g. engine tuning, suspension changes)
If your car looks, feels, or performs differently from how it left the factory, it counts as a modification.
Before You Modify: Contact Customer Support
Always speak to our customer support team before making any changes to your car.

Modifications That Increase Your Premium
Some changes are acceptable but will raise your premium. These include performance-related upgrades. In such cases:
We’ll calculate the new premium.
You’ll need to pay the difference via a manual policy change.
We’ll invoice you for the new amount.
You’ll always be told in advance how much the increase will be.
Modifications We Don’t Cover
We cannot insure cars with the following modifications:
Additional or modified seating
Engine tuning or remapping
Suspension changes (e.g. lowering kits)
