How to Cancel an Action in a Process (Failed, Wrong Stage)?

Did you accidentally mark a candidate as failed, or move them to the wrong stage? Here's how to fix it in Marvin.

Cancelling a Failed Status

You can cancel a failed status from two places.

From the project Kanban

  1. Go to the relevant project → Process tab.

  2. Find the candidate in the "Failed" column.

  3. Click on the gear icon ⚙️ on the candidate card.

  4. Click "Cancel failed" — the candidate returns to their previous stage.

From the candidate profile

  1. Open the candidate profile.

  2. Find the relevant process in the Process section.

  3. Click on the gear icon ⚙️ next to the process.

  4. Click "Cancel failed".

⚠️ From the general Kanban (Projects → My processes), it is not possible to cancel a failed status if the candidate is marked as failed on multiple processes simultaneously. In that case, use the project Kanban or the candidate profile instead.

Going Back to a Previous Stage

If you moved a candidate to the wrong stage, two options.

From the project Kanban

Drag and drop the candidate card to the desired stage, just like a regular stage change.

From the candidate profile

Click on the dropdown of the current stage in the Process section, and select the desired stage.

💡 There are no restrictions — you can move a candidate to any stage, including earlier ones.

Deleting a Process by Mistake

If a candidate was added to a process by mistake and you want to remove them completely.

From the project Kanban

  1. Click on the gear icon ⚙️ on the candidate card.

  2. Select "Delete" (in red).

From the candidate profile

  1. Find the process in the Process section.

  2. Click on the gear icon ⚙️ next to the process.

  3. Select "Delete" (in red).

⚠️ Deleting a process is permanent. If you simply want to set the candidate aside, prefer marking as failed rather than deleting.

Key Takeaways

  • Cancel a failed status → gear icon ⚙️ → "Cancel failed" (from the project Kanban or candidate profile).

  • Change stage → drag and drop in the Kanban, or change the stage from the candidate profile.

  • Delete a process → gear icon ⚙️ → "Delete" (permanent).
