Marking a plan with the area tool

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to scale your plan and mark the floor plans with the area tool, which provides square footage quantities.


Step 1: Click on the item you want to mark on the floor plan

Step 2: Click "EDIT" under specifications

Click" edit" on plan markers under specifications

Step 3: Select "AREA" to use the area measuring tool, which quantifies square footage

Step 4: Next, scale for your plan page by clicking "SET SCALE" or if you have already set the scale and need to adjust click on "Change scale".

Please note: Currently, plan markers are only measured using the imperial units of measurement in feet and inches and plan markers are not yet available in the metric system.

At this point you want to get an accurate scale for your plan. Click on "Change scale".

Step 6: Adjust accordingly

Step 7: Type the correct size of the object

Step 8: Click on Save

Step 9: You can choose this measurement as the default scale for the rest of the project!

Step 10: At this point you now can easily drag the area tool to your project to measure the dimensions for the item!

Step 11: To add waste, click "+ WASTE %" and enter your desired waste
