This step-by-step guide will give you information on the functionality of view-only links and QR codes and will walk you through creating a view-only link in Materio to share a specific portion of your scope of work with subcontractors or other relevant parties. In this view-only mode, your collaborators can also get other information about the project such as approval status and associated spec or tear sheets. This provides them with a comprehensive view of the project without the need to log in, while still being able to see the floor plans and all shared information.
1. Open your project in Materio and navigate to the top right corner of the screen. Click on the "Share" button to access the sharing options.
2. In the sharing options, look for the "View Only Links" feature and click on it
3. To create a new view-only link, click on the option to create a new link.
4. Here is where you can choose which categories of work, locations, and plan pages you'd like to share in your view-only link
5. Choose the relevant category of work that you want to share, such as "Plumbing."
6. If desired, you can select specific locations within the project to include in the view-only link.
7. Determine which plan pages you want to share with the subcontractor or other recipients
8. After selecting the category, locations, and plan pages, click on the "Save" button to save the view-only link configuration.
9. Once saved, you will see the newly created view-only link displayed. Copy the link by selecting "copy"
10. Once you've copied and pasted the link and sent it over to a subcontractor or external collaborator, it will look like this when they receive it
Showing the entire scope of work as well markers on the plan for all the products under that category of work
11. As well as any confirmed product in the category showing all of the product's relevant attachments as well as where that product is located on the project
12. Alternatively, you can print a QR code using the provided options in Materio. This allows the subcontractor to scan the QR code and access the relevant scope of work on-site. This QR code is just a quick scan that will direct your sub to the link above.
13. Access tracking information will display the number of times the link has been opened or viewed, providing insights into its usage.
By following these steps, you have successfully created a view-only link in Materio, allowing you to share specific portions of your scope of work with subcontractors. Remember to choose the relevant category, locations, and plan pages to customize the view-only link. You can share the link directly or print a QR code for convenient access on the job site. Monitor the link's access tracking information to stay informed about its usage.
