How to edit default tax and markup rates

1. To edit vendor tax, markup, and sales tax for new items to be added, go to the top of your Scope of Work, on your project's "Scope" tab

2. Click on the "Gear" symbol at the top

3. Click on "Edit Default Rates"

4. Here you can customize and edit a variety of rates

Materio offers customization for the defaults on vendor tax, markup, and client tax (sales tax). You can edit the rates on cost components such as item, shipping, delivery, and labor.

Click on Save

5. The last step is to choose if you want to apply these changes.

Click Save to update rates for this project going forward. Editing default rates will not affect items that already exist in your project. It will only set default rates for all items added to your Scope of Work moving forward. If you would like to edit your rates vendor tax or markup for items you added previously to your Scope of Work, you will have to edit those items individually. You can however update client tax for existing items by clicking the gear icon and choosing 'Update client sales tax':

6. Here, you can edit sales tax for anything that already exists in your Scope of Work

Fill in your new desired sales tax rates for each category of scope item, and click 'Update' to apply the change.

Now the client sales tax will be consistent across new and existing scope items!
