Whether you've had unexpected changes to your project's scope, or you missed a category when estimating, Materio provides an easy-to-use solution for organizing and managing your project. Follow these steps to effortlessly categorize and enhance your project management capabilities within Materio's intuitive interface.
1. Begin by accessing your project's scope of work section in Materio. Look for the "gear" icon, and click on it to reveal a drop-down menu with various options
2. In the drop-down menu, click on the "Edit Categories" option. This will open a dialogue where you can manage your categories of work.
3. Scroll down within the category management section until you reach the bottom. This is where you can add a new category. Click
"+ Add Category"
4. A list of Materio's default categories of work will appear, allowing you to choose your new category. Here we've chosen to add "appliances" to our project's scope.
5. Click on "Save"
6. After clicking "save" the new category will show up in your scope of work.
7. With the new category created, you can now add items and locations. You can drag and drop items from other categories of work into specific locations you've created.
8. If you are not seeing a category that needs to go into your project, you can create a custom category in Materio, enabling you to tailor your project's categorization to suit your specific needs. Start by scrolling down to the bottom of the category list and click on the "Add Category" button.
9. Choose "Custom" from the available category types at the bottom
10. Type in the name of the custom category you want to add in the designated field.
Note that you cannot edit a category once created. Instead, you can create a new category with the desired name and move items into it, then delete the original category.
11. After entering the custom category name, click the "Add" or "Save" button to create and add the custom category to your project.
12. Click on "Save"
And now you've added a new category of work to your scope of work in Materio. If you're project is growing, and you need to be flexible with what type of work you're going to be performing, Materio makes it easy!
