Whether you've had unexpected changes to your project's scope, or you missed a category when estimating, Materio provides an easy-to-use solution for organizing and managing your project. Follow these steps to effortlessly categorize and enhance your project management capabilities within Materio's intuitive interface.

1. Begin by accessing your project's scope of work section in Materio. Click the orange '+Add category' button in your scope.

2. You'll then have the option of using a suggested category, or creating your own.

3. With the new category added, you can now add items and locations. You can drag and drop items from other categories of work into specific locations you've created.

Note that you cannot edit a category once created. Instead, you can create a new category with the desired name and move items into it, then delete the original category. To delete a category, hover over the category header until the three dots appear. Click the dots and choose 'Delete' from the drop down menu.

If you accidentally place an item in the wrong category, you can move the item by hovering over it, pressing the 'Move' arrow button, and selecting the correct category from the menu.

4. If you'd like to rearrange the order of your categories, simply click the arrow icon at the top of the scope to collapse all and drag and drop the category headers in to place.

Note that you can also rearrange locations by collapsing all locations while in Location view, and dragging and dropping them into place.

And that's how you add a new category to your scope of work in Materio. If you're project is growing, and you need to be flexible with what type of work you're going to be performing, Materio makes it easy!
