In Materio, setting dependencies on work phases in your timeline allows you to establish start time dependencies based on completing other work phases. In this tutorial, we will walk you through setting dependencies for work phases in Materio's timeline. Let's get started!

1. Navigate to the timeline section within your Materio project. Here, you can view and manage your project's different work phases.

2. You can see start and finish dates as well as previously set dependencies (where it says After 'E')

Here you can review the work phases in your timeline. You can see start and finish dates as well as previously set dependencies(where it says After E)

3. Hover over a work phase to see if any dependencies are indicated. This example currently has Doors and Windows starting after Design Services.

4. To modify a work phase's dependency, click on "After Design Services" to the right of the work phase. This will allow you to adjust the dependency settings.

Click on After…

5. Here you will see the current dependency listed. For example, it may state that the work phase starts after completing "Design Services."

6. If you want to add another dependency to the work phase, click on the relevant section to make changes. This will allow you to specify additional work phases that need to be completed before the current phase (Doors and Windows) can start.

In this example, we're adding "Plumbing" as a category of work that needs to be completed before "Doors and Windows" can start. Work phases can have many dependencies set on them.

7. After adding or modifying the dependencies, save the changes to update the work phase's dependency settings.

8. Repeat these steps for any other work phases that require dependency adjustments in your timeline. This will ensure that the start times of different work phases depend appropriately on their preceding phases.

In conclusion, Materio's dependency feature empowers project managers to establish start-time dependencies between work phases, enhancing coordination and efficiency in project timelines.
