🚀 Getting Started: How Your Child Logs In

To get started with Magma Math, your child will log in using one of the following Single Sign-On (SSO) options, which will be provided by their teacher:

  • Clever

  • ClassLink

  • Microsoft

  • Google

🌟 Personalizing the Learning Experience

Magma Math allows your child to personalize their experience to make learning more comfortable and engaging. Here's what can be adjusted:

  • Language Preferences: Your child can choose the language they feel most comfortable with.

  • Text Size: Adjust the text size to make reading easier.

  • Text-to-Speech: This feature can be turned on so problems can be read aloud, helping those who benefit from auditory learning.

  • Submission Method: Your child can choose how to submit their solutions—either by typing or using a touchscreen, depending on what works best for them.

📝 Understanding Assignments and Quizzes

When your child logs into Magma Math, they will see assignments or quizzes that help them practice and improve their math skills. These are presented on a canvas where they can show their work, which may include:

  • Solving Problems: Your child can use the tools provided (like a pencil, eraser, and figures) to illustrate their work and solve problems.

  • Manipulatives: These virtual tools (such as a pencil and geometric figures) are available on the screen to help your child visualize math concepts.

🔥 Tracking Progress and Understanding Results

Magma Math gives teachers and parents valuable insights into your child's progress through features like the Heatmap. Here's how it works:

  • Green: Your child got the problem right on the first try.

  • Yellow: They got it right after a couple of attempts.

  • Red: The answer was incorrect.

This feedback helps identify areas where your child might need extra support and shows how they are progressing over time.

🏫 How You Can Support Your Child's Success

Encourage Regular Practice: Encourage your child to work on their assignments regularly to build their math skills.

Be Available for Questions: If your child is having difficulty with an assignment, ask them to explain what they’re working on. If needed, they can ask their teacher for further clarification.

Celebrate Achievements: Magma Math rewards progress with stars and feedback. Celebrate when your child earns a high score, and motivate them if they need to try again.

With Magma Math, your child is on their way to mastering math in an engaging way. Your support plays a key role in their success, so stay involved and help them navigate the learning process!
