If you notice that some students are having trouble with some math skills, here's how you hand out assignments automatically created by Magma Math based on the problems the students had difficulty solving.

  • Start by clicking on an assignment you've created, and you will be taken to the Heatmap. Then, go to the Skills matrix.

Attention! If all the problems in the assignment are from the same subchapter, you will not be able to go to the Skills matrix.

  • You will then be taken to a different view. The students are at the top, and the skills will be to the left.

  • There are also more colors here than in the Heatmap. You can see what the different colors' mean by clicking on the information button.

  • To the left, you will see the skills the students have worked with in your assignment. You can also see which book, chapter, and subchapter the problems in the assignment belong to. By clicking on a box to the far right (in this example, Subtracting fractions (same denominator)), an assignment repeating those kinds of problems will be created.

  • The message in the following picture will pop up before you create the assignment. When you click Create, the assignment will be handed out automatically to all the students who got less than 60% correct in the given skill.

  • As usual, the assignment will show up under the Assignments tab -> Available. You can always edit an assignment by clicking the three dots to the right of the assignment if you, for example, want to change the assignment's name, add/remove problems, or add/remove students who have access to the assignment.
