Why don’t I speak to a doctor first?

Why don’t I speak to a doctor first?

Updated over 2 months ago

At May, when you ask a question about your child, you are connected with a pediatric nurse (IPDE) from our team. Pediatric nurses are qualified to handle most topics, including feeding, sleep, parenting challenges, and many common health concerns. If your child's situation requires a doctor’s opinion, the nurse can involve a May doctor in the conversation.

For your own health, our midwives will respond to you. Midwifery is a medical profession, and they are qualified to advise and inform you on all aspects of women’s health. If a doctor’s intervention is necessary, it means that a medical consultation is required—the midwives will refer you to your primary care physician or the emergency department, depending on the situation.
