Using BRAG's "Create" tab, you can create Overpayments or Credit Notes in another group entity to reconcile a transaction against.

Credit Notes

  1. Select the entity you want to create the credit note in

  2. Choose "Credit Note" from the "Type" field

  3. You can then fill the Amount, Contact, Account and Description fields in as required

When you choose "Add to Selected", "Review" and eventually "Continue" to reconcile the transaction, Mayday will create the Credit Note in your chosen entity, and apply a payment to it from the intercompany account configured in Settings > Intercompany Balances. See this article for more information.

If you need to apply a part payment to this credit note, you can edit the amount applied from the "Review" screen by choosing "Edit payment distribution".

Overpayments

  1. Select the entity you want to create the overpayment in

  2. Choose "Overpayment" from the "Type" field

  3. You can then then fill the Amount, Contact and Description fields in as required before choosing "Add to Selected" and reconciling the transaction

Note that you cannot edit the account when creating an Overpayment, it will default to the intercompany account selected in Settings > Intercompany Balances.

When you reconcile the transaction, Mayday will create a Credit Note in the chosen entity (Mayday cannot create an "Overpayment" object due to restrictions in Xero's API) for the entered amount to the intercompany. This Credit Note will not have a payment applied to it, so it can be used as payment for future bills and invoices.
