What browsers is BRAG available for?

BRAG is currently available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Why am I receiving an error message when attempting to reconcile?

If you encounter an error message when attempting cross-entity bank rec, check your account codes in the ‘Intercompany Loans’ sections of Mayday.

You'll need to enable payments to be made to those account codes in Xero. Head to Chart of Accounts and select the relevant account codes in each entity. Tick "Enable payments to this account". You'll need to click the sync button in Mayday after you've done this.

Will cross-entity reconciling take care of the postings into both entities?

Yes. As you've done your ‘Intercompany Loans’ account code mapping in Mayday, clicking OK to reconcile will debit and credit the relevant intercompany accounts. This will mark the bill as paid or the invoice received to the intercompany account, and the spend money or receive money transaction will be marked off to the intercompany account.

Can I use BRAG to reconcile intercompany transfers?

BRAG isn't for intercompany transfers between group entities at present. It's for one of two situations:

  1. Where one entity has a bank feed item in relation to one or more bills or invoices that already exist in other group entities - in which case you'll want the Matches or Search options within the Mayday tab

  2. Where one entity has a bank feed item in relation to one or more other group entities but the relevant bills or invoices don't yet exist in those group entities - in which case you'll want the Create option within the Mayday tab

We don't currently have a way of matching a bank feed item in one entity to one in another - i.e. a transfer between those entities. This is due to technical limitations of the Xero API.

For now, the process to reconcile a transfer will be as it always has been, via the relevant bank feed items using the regular Xero bank rec. You can of course leverage transaction matching in Balancer to ensure all transfers have been accounted for correctly, and any posting asymmetries are identified quickly.

Why can't I see the invoice or bill I want to match my transaction to?

There are a couple of reasons why you might not see the relevant invoice/bill appearing when you are using BRAG.

  1. Has the BRAG feature been "activated"?

You may have the BRAG browser extension enabled, but if you have not "activated" the BRAG feature inside of Mayday it won't function as intended.

Simple fix: Go into Mayday, go to Settings, go to Products and enable BRAG.

  2. Is the relevant Xero org connected?

If you have the BRAG browser extension enabled, and you have the BRAG feature activated in product, the other reason you might not see an invoice/bill is if you haven't connected the relevant Xero org.

To check, go into Mayday, go to Sources (left-hand navigation) and double check the Xero files are there. If its not, then "Add Source" and wait for the data to finish syncing.
