Can my connected Cable communicate with my solar panels?

Yes, you can, thanks to an in-app purchase via the NRGKick application.

The photovoltaic charging function for the NRGkick is possible.

It will be unlocked via an inexpensive in-app purchase.

  • The NRGKick will be able to communicate with Fronius and SMA inverters thanks to a software update.

  • Other manufacturers such as SolarEdge, Kostal and Huawei will be integrated in subsequent updates.

With the PV update, we intend to initially offer at least three PV charging strategies:

  1. 100% solar (100% of the PV system's output is used for charging).

  2. Assisted charging (all the photovoltaic production + the definable grid reference are used for charging - which is interesting for small systems).

  3. Excess charging (only the excess is used for charging; in addition, the user can define whether charging should be maintained or interrupted if photovoltaic production is too low).

In other presets, this offers the advantage that charging is interrupted or maintained in the event of overcharging and too little photovoltaic production (using the mains supply). This prevents a ‘cloud’ from interrupting charging completely.
