If you’re trying to connect your YouTube channel but don’t see it listed during the connection process, here’s what’s likely going on — and how to fix it.
The Quick Answer:
YouTube only shows channels where you’re an Owner or Manager of a Brand Account. If you're just an invited user via YouTube Studio permissions, the channel won’t show up and cannot be connected to third-party apps (like ours).
What You Can Connect:
You will see and be able to connect:
Channels under a Brand Account where you’re listed as Owner or Manager
What You Can’t Connect:
You will not see or be able to connect:
Channels where you’ve only been invited in YouTube Studio with roles like Manager, Editor, or Viewer
These roles only grant limited access on the YouTube website, not through YouTube’s API
Google doesn’t recognize these roles for app integrations
How to Fix It
Option 1: Use a Brand Account
Convert the YouTube channel to a Brand Account (if it’s not already)
Add your Google account as an Owner or Manager of that Brand Account
This gives you full API access and lets the channel appear in the connection screen
Option 2: Have the Channel Owner Connect
Ask the actual channel owner (the person who created the channel) to connect it through their account
Why This Happens
YouTube treats Brand Account managers as official channel admins. YouTube Studio roles (Manager, Editor, etc.) do not have that same level of access — they’re currently not supported for connecting through third-party apps.
Final Checklist to See Your Channel:
Is the channel linked to a Brand Account?
Are you added as an Owner or Manager in Brand Account settings (not just YouTube Studio)?
Are you logging in with the correct Google account?
If all of these are in place, your channel should appear and connect successfully
