Filters in Measure Studio support both AND and OR logic. This option is available in Advanced Filters and Post Groups, giving you more control over search results and how content is grouped.
Using AND logic narrows results by requiring all selected conditions to be true, while OR logic broadens results by including content that matches any of the selected conditions. This helps ensure your filters return exactly the content you want.
What’s the difference between AND and OR?
AND → Narrows your results. Only posts that match all filter conditions will be included.
Example:
"cats" AND "dogs"
→ Only posts that mention both cats and dogs.
OR → Broadens your results. Posts that match any of the filter conditions will be included.
Example:
"cats" OR "dogs"
→ Posts that mention cats, dogs, or both.
Where can I use AND/OR logic?
You can set AND/OR logic in two places:
Advanced Filters – when applying filters to your posts.
Auto Post Grouping – when setting up auto-grouping in Post Groups.
How it helps in Auto-grouping
AND logic also makes your auto groups smarter and more relevant. Instead of pulling in posts that match any of your rules, you can now set stricter criteria so only posts that meet all your rules are automatically grouped.
This is especially useful when:
You want to track highly specific campaigns (e.g., only TikTok videos using a certain hashtag).
You need clean, focused groups that don’t pull in unrelated content.
You want to automate detailed organization that mirrors how you’d manually group posts.
In short, AND logic ensures your auto groups are more accurate, consistent, and easier to analyze without extra cleanup.
Important notes
Publish date, data period, platforms, accounts, and post types will always use the AND operator, even if you are using OR for other filters.
