Connect Measure Studio to Perplexity

Measure Studio runs over MCP (Model Context Protocol), so you can pull your social analytics straight into Perplexity and ask about performance in plain language instead of exporting data or digging through dashboards.

Before you start

You need:

  • A Measure Studio account, logged in

  • Perplexity on a Pro, Max, or Enterprise plan (custom connectors aren't available on the free tier)

  • On Enterprise: an admin must first enable "Allow members to add custom connectors" under Enterprise Settings → Permissions → Connectors permissions

The connection uses your Measure Studio login, so Perplexity sees exactly what you'd see in the app. If you can only edit reports you authored, that's still true inside Perplexity.

Set it up

  1. Go to Account Settings → Connectors (Enterprise admins: Enterprise Settings → Permissions → Connectors permissions).

  2. Click + Custom connector in the top-right corner, then select Remote.

  3. Name it "Measure Studio" and set the MCP Server URL to https://app.measure.studio/mcp

  4. Under Authentication, select OAuth 2.0. Measure Studio supports OAuth discovery, so Perplexity should auto-detect the endpoints; you don't need to enter a client ID or secret.

  5. Check the risk acknowledgement box, then click Add.

  6. Click the connector card to launch the sign-in screen, then log in with your Measure Studio account and approve the connection.

  7. In any thread, click the + (Sources) icon in the search box and toggle Measure Studio on.

What to ask

Once connected, ask Perplexity about your accounts the way you'd ask a teammate:

  • "What were my top 5 Instagram posts last month by reach?"

  • "How does my TikTok engagement rate compare to my benchmark?"

  • "Build a slide comparing engagement on YouTube vs. TikTok in Q1."

  • "Give me a summary of our social performance this month for a client email."

For sharper answers, name the platform, give an exact date range, and say which metric you want. "How did my posts do recently?" leaves Perplexity guessing; "How did my Instagram Reels perform May 1-31, 2026 on reach?" doesn't.

What it can and can't do

Perplexity can read post and account metrics, benchmarks, groups, and historical trends, and it can create report slides on your behalf. It can't post content, change account settings, or touch billing.

Authentication runs on OAuth 2.1 with PKCE: Measure Studio never shares your credentials with Perplexity, only a token scoped to your account. You can revoke access anytime from your Measure Studio account settings or by removing the connector in Perplexity.

If something's not working

  • Can't connect: double check the URL is exactly https://app.measure.studio/mcp, no trailing slash.

  • Authorization fails: confirm you're logged into Measure Studio in your browser first, and that your plan includes MCP (not available on free trials).

  • No data comes back: check that the connected account you authorized with actually has recent data.

  • Data looks stale: check Settings → Connected Accounts for the last sync time; LinkedIn data can lag up to 48 hours.

Still stuck? Remove the connector in Perplexity and reconnect following the steps above.
