It’s natural for posts to see a decline in views and engagement over time. When this happens, Measure Studio automatically pauses daily tracking, but don’t worry—we periodically check back to see if your post has been reshared or found new life.
Posts are tracked hourly, when possible, when they are initially posted.
Instagram - First 72 hours for posts and reels. First 24 hours for stories.
Facebook - First 72 hours for posts and reels.
YouTube - First 48 hours for videos and shorts.
LinkedIn - Hourly not supported
X - Hourly not supported
TikTok - Hourly not supported
Snapchat - Hourly not supported
From there, we track posts daily during an initial tracking period.
X - First 30 days
All other platforms - First 90 days
We will then pause daily post tracking if we detect a post has less than 1% daily impression or view growth.
For context, most social media posts generate the majority of their viewership in the first few days of life.
At that point, Measure Studio will check the post for new growth every week.
If Measure Studio detects a greater than 1% growth in impressions or views during this checkup, we un-pause tracking on the post.
Once we detect less than 1% growth in impressions or views, we will once again pause the post, and resume weekly checks for new growth.
When does Measure Studio stop tracking data altogether?
Each social media platform has different limitations in terms of the historical data they provide. Measure Studio will completely stop tracking data for posts when they reach the following age:
Facebook - 2 years
Instagram - 1 year and 11 months
LinkedIn - 1 year and 1 month
X - 30 days
TikTok - 90 days
Snapchat - No limit
YouTube - No limit
