A quick introduction to Files

Get started with the Files section of MediaMarkt Cloud with this quick and easy introduction.

Updated over 7 months ago

The most important part of MediaMarkt Cloud is files and folders. Everything we do at MediaMarkt Cloud center around storing your files safely.

Files is the most common and recognizable representation of your data. Your folder structure and files are all visible in a tree structure, like you would expect.

How Files are organized in MediaMarkt Cloud

Synchronized files

Files and folders located in the Synched files section will be synchronized to all your computers. We call this place the Sync folder.

You should place files here that you need access to on all your computers.

To synchronize files to you computers you must install the Desktop App.

You can share folders with other people, if the folder is located in the Sync folder.

Backed up files

When you back up files and folders, they end up in a folder called Backed up.

You can back up computers and phones, using our Desktop Apps or Mobile Apps.

A backup is a mirror of your local folder structure. When you add new files and folders, they are backed up to the cloud.

When you delete a file or folder, we put in the Trash Can, where it is deleted after 30 days.

Archive

Files you don't want to Synchronize, but you want to store online, even if you delete it from your Backup can be stored in the Archive.

Files stored in the Archive are completely detached from any devices, and will be stored here until you delete the files manually.

Moving files to the archive is a great way to free up space on you computers.

Shared files

All the files and folders you share, or someone shares with you, are located under "Shared".
