It allows users to understand their health better, check for symptoms daily and learn about COVID-19 from reliable sources, such as government official advice, WHO and John Hopkins University. Huma Health Shield is not a medical device, and it cannot prevent, diagnose or treat COVID-19. All features of this app are to be used as advice and guidance.
Is Huma Health Shield a medical device?
NO. Huma Health Shield is NOT a medical device. Huma Health Shield is intended to be used as an educational tool to support you during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though you can find scientific information on the app regarding matters of health, biomarkers and illnesses, such as COVID-19, Huma Health Shield cannot diagnose or treat any conditions, nor does it provide you with personalised treatment recommendations. The app should be used as a wellness tool in addition to your usual medical advice.

It is important that, as a user, you understand that this app cannot replace a doctor’s assessment and cannot diagnose or treat COVID-19 or any other illnesses. What regulatory and compliance approvals does Huma have?
Huma Health Shield is NOT a medical device. However, some of Huma’s other products are registered with the Medicines and Healthcare Product Regulatory Agency (MHRA) as a Medical Device.
Huma’s Remote Patient Monitoring App is a CE approved Class 1 Medical Device.
Huma is ISO 13485:2016 certified (Medical Devices: Quality Management Systems).
The FDA has recommended the enforcement discretion classification for the current Huma product.
German Federal Institute of Drugs & Medical Devices approved for Huma’s COVID-19 remote monitoring app.
Huma is EU GDPR compliant.
