Connecting your Zoom account

A big part of hiring involves scheduling meetings. By connecting Zoom with Mega you give Megan (your AI assistant) the ability to schedule Zoom meetings for your preferences. This article shows you how to connect and disconnect your account.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Zoom account you can sign into.

  • Your browser can open pop-ups (Zoom’s auth window uses one).

  • If your company restricts app installs, your Zoom admin might need to approve the connection.

How we use your Zoom account

We ask for the following permission:

  • View a meeting
    We need this to check for the existence and details of meetings we create.

  • Create a meeting for a user
    When you ask Megan to schedule a meeting and you're the organizer, Megan will use this permission to create your Zoom meeting.

  • View a user
    We use this to verify the user matches what we expect.

  • View a meeting's summary
    In cases where Megan takes notes, we may use this information as part of the Interview Insights we share with your team after the meeting.


Connecting Zoom

  1. Click the gear ⚙️ in the bottom left and select User Settings

  2. Click Connected Apps from the top left menu

  3. Click Connect next to the Zoom app
    That will begin the Zoom authorization flow.

  4. Sign into Zoom
    A Zoom window opens. Sign in with the Zoom account you’ll use for interviews.

  5. Approve the connection
    Click Allow to grant Mega permission to create Zoom meetings on your behalf.

  6. You’re connected
    You’ll see Zoom marked as Connected ✅ in Mega.



Disconnecting Zoom

  1. Click the gear ⚙️ in the bottom left and select User Settings

  2. Click Connected Apps from the top left menu

  3. Click Disconnect next to the Zoom app
    Your Zoom OAuth keys and information are immediately removed from the Mega platform.

  4. You’ll see Zoom Connected ✅ message has been replaced with an option to "Connect" again.


Using Zoom

Connecting your Zoom account allows Megan to schedule meetings with you as the Zoom organizer.

Megan schedules meetings in one of two ways:

1. Conversationally
First, to schedule conversationally you must be a Hiring Manager on one or more jobs. If you are, start a new Conversation with Megan using the Conversation section on the right. Just click "New".


From there, just ask her to schedule a Zoom meeting with yourself and another candidate. You can also ask her to include other users of Mega.

2. Stage Configuration

The other, and more common way is to configure a stage-level Interview. You do this by clicking the gear ⚙️ icon in the top right of a given stage.


From there toggle on AI Scheduling and configure your meeting. The list of connected Zoom accounts will appear in the Zoom User dropdown. From there the appropriate user can be selected.


Once you're done, click Save Stage.

With the stage Interview configured, when a candidate enters this stage, Megan will reach out to them and coordinate the meeting with the supplied preferences.


Troubleshooting

Should you have issues connecting or disconnecting your account, please reach out to our support team by clicking the ? icon in the bottom left and then choosing Chat with Support from the menu. Or email support@megahr.com.
