Melting Service Guidelines (Global)

Effective Date: July 7, 2026

Melting is a platform on which creators and users create and share stories through AI characters. These Service Guidelines set out the basic principles, restriction standards, and reporting and enforcement procedures applicable to content and conduct, so that every user can enjoy the service in a safe and respectful environment.

Scope and Basic Principles

Scope of Application

  • These Guidelines apply to the service in its entirety (including content creation, uploading, sharing, conversations, comments, profiles, and community features) and to all conduct that occurs in the course of using the service.

  • These Guidelines apply together with the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and other policies. Where there is a conflict between documents, the documents will be interpreted and applied reasonably, taking into account the purpose and scope of each document.

Application of Local Law

  • As a global service, Melting operates on the premise that laws, regulations, cultural standards, and the requirements of platform and payment partners may differ from country to country and region to region.

  • Because laws and regulations differ by country, Melting may apply additional restrictions, separate procedures, restrictions on certain features, or additional verification procedures (such as age verification) to users or content in a particular country or region. When applying local rules, Melting considers, as reasonable connecting factors, the country of residence the user has reported or registered, the access location, the country of payment, and any other factors required by applicable law.

Safe and Responsible Use

  • Users must respect the rights and safety of others and must not attempt, or induce others to engage in, any unlawful or harmful conduct.

  • Melting may carry out monitoring, technical measures, report-based review, and similar activities for the safety of users and the community.

Registration and Age of Use

Minimum Age for Registration

  • Unless a higher minimum age is required under applicable law, the minimum age to register for Melting and create an account is 14 years old.

Regional Additional Requirements and Possible Feature-Specific Restrictions

  • Depending on the country or region, the use of online services may require the consent of a legal guardian, a higher minimum age may apply, or additional age restrictions may apply to certain features (for example, access to adult content, payment, monetization, or public distribution).

  • Users must satisfy the requirements applicable to them under relevant laws and regulations (for example, obtaining the consent of a legal guardian), and Melting may request age verification or related supporting documentation to a reasonable extent.

  • Where a user circumvents the age or consent requirements or provides false information, Melting may take necessary measures, including access restrictions, suspension, or termination of the account.

Principles for the Protection of Minors

  • Melting may restrict the display of, or limit access to, certain content in order to protect minors.

  • Where, taking into account the nature of the content, the character setting, the manner of expression, and the context, a reasonable user is likely to perceive the subject as a minor, content in a sexual, violent, or exploitative context may be restricted even more strictly.

Content Classification

To enhance the safety of the service and users’ freedom of choice, Melting may take the following measures based on the actual content and risk level:

  • Assigning an appropriate rating, cautionary notice, or sensitive-content label;

  • Re-assigning or changing the visibility scope, content rating, or content settings selected by the creator where they do not match the actual content;

  • Applying warning labels, age restrictions, distribution or visibility limits, or exclusion from publicly visible areas;

  • Restricting specific features, such as monetization and recommendation or discovery placement.

Whether content is classified or restricted is determined by comprehensively considering the standards and context set out in “Prohibited Conduct and Restricted Content” below. If even one factor falls within a higher risk standard, Melting may classify or restrict the content as a whole accordingly.

Prohibited Conduct and Restricted Content

Posting, sharing, or distributing the following content, or any act that encourages or induces such content, is prohibited or may be restricted. Depending on the severity and risk of the violation, Melting may take measures such as visibility restrictions, removal, and account restrictions.

Unlawful and Harmful Acts

  • Content that specifically encourages, glorifies, or instructs violence, crime, self-harm, or suicide, or that assists in carrying them out;

  • Propaganda for, recruitment into, fundraising for, or operational support of terrorism, extremism, or violent organizations;

  • Content that provides detailed guidance on, or assists in carrying out, dangerous acts such as the manufacture of weapons or explosives or the production or distribution of illegal drugs;

  • Content related to, or any act that assists, unlawful activities such as fraud, gambling (including illegal or unlicensed gambling), illegal transactions, identity forgery, hacking, and the distribution of malicious code;

  • Threats, intimidation, stalking, or harassment that may pose an immediate danger to the safety of others.

Sexual Content and Exploitation

  • Child or youth sexual exploitation material, or any content that may be interpreted as such (including live-action, animation, text, audio, and synthetic media);

  • Content that implies, depicts, or encourages sexual acts with minors, or that involves the sexualization of minors;

  • The glorification or encouragement of non-consensual sexual acts, sexual violence, rape, coercion, sexual acts induced by drugs or intimidation, or sexual abuse;

  • Content involving, or that induces, brokers, or promotes, prostitution, sexual exploitation, or human trafficking;

  • Excessively explicit detailed depictions of sexual acts, the distribution of pornography, or content of an equivalent nature;

  • The filming or distribution of material that infringes another person’s sexual privacy, revenge pornography, and the synthesis, editing, or distribution of sexual images without consent.

Violence and Graphic Content

  • Excessively cruel or repulsive depictions of violence (such as dismemberment, torture, brutal killing, serious bodily injury, and animal cruelty);

  • Content that glorifies violence or that incites or encourages violence against a particular target;

  • Graphic depictions of violence or cruelty in publicly visible areas that may shock ordinary users.

Hate, Discrimination, and Harassment

  • Hate speech, discrimination, exclusion, or incitement to violence on the basis of protected characteristics such as race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, illness, or age;

  • Insults, denigration, harassment, coordinated attacks, or collective ostracism directed at a particular group or individual;

  • Persistent harassment or repeated malicious conduct that causes fear in users.

Infringement of Personal and Sensitive Information

  • Collecting, posting, or distributing one’s own or another person’s personal information (such as real name, address, phone number, email, financial information, identification documents, and account information) without consent;

  • Disclosing personal information for the purpose of threat or extortion, or inducing the disclosure of personal information;

  • The unauthorized sharing or misuse of sensitive information, such as medical or financial information.

Impersonation, Deception, Spam, and Malicious Activity

  • Impersonating Melting, its operators, its affiliates, public institutions, or other persons;

  • Spreading misleading false information or engaging in deceptive conduct (such as phishing, scams, and link baiting);

  • Repeated advertising, spam, automated bulk activity, or conduct that disrupts the operation of the service;

  • Exploiting vulnerabilities or undermining the stability of the service.

Public Exposure and Access Restrictions

Strict Application in Publicly Visible Areas

  • Stricter standards may apply to areas that may be exposed to an unspecified number of people, such as the feed, search, recommendations, and public profile areas.

  • Even for identical content, visibility restrictions or warning labels may be applied depending on whether the content is publicly visible, the difficulty of access, the age group of users, and the context.

Access Restrictions and Warnings

  • Melting may apply access-restriction measures to certain content, such as age verification, warning screens, restricted mode, and regional restrictions.

Protection of Real Persons and Rights

Protection of Real Persons

  • Content that uses, without consent, or impersonates the likeness, name, voice, identity, or private life of a real person may be restricted.

  • In particular, depicting a real person in a sexual, violent, or insulting context, or in a manner that is misleading, may be strictly restricted.

Protection of Intellectual Property

  • Posting or distributing content that infringes the rights of others, such as copyrights, trademark rights, and rights of publicity, is prohibited.

  • Users must hold the rights or licenses necessary for the content they upload or share.

Reporting and Appeals Procedure

Submitting a Report

  • Users and rights holders may report violations of these Guidelines, rights infringements, and safety issues through the reporting channels Melting provides.

  • Please include in your report, to the extent possible, relevant links, a description, the information demonstrating your rights or facts of harm, and the action requested.

Review and Action

  • Melting reviews the contents of a report and, considering the likelihood of a violation and the level of harm, may decide on appropriate measures such as content removal, visibility restrictions, account restrictions, access restrictions, and warning labels.

  • Where there is a clear violation or an urgent safety risk, Melting may take provisional measures without prior notice.

Rights Infringement Reports and Appeals

  • Where a rights-infringement report is received, Melting may, to a reasonable extent, restrict or remove the content and notify the relevant parties.

  • The reported user may file an appeal within 14 days of the date of notice. However, where applicable law or regulation requires a longer period, that period may apply in priority.

  • Once an appeal is received, Melting will re-review it within a reasonable period and may restore the content or adjust the measures where a violation is not established or the absence of a rights infringement is demonstrated.

  • Where a report or appeal is found to be false or made in bad faith, Melting may apply additional restrictions to the relevant account.

Enforcement Principles

Proportionality and Consistency

  • Melting selects proportionate measures by comprehensively considering the severity of the violation, the likelihood of harm, recurrence, intent, attempts at circumvention, the scope of harm, and the impact on user safety.

Types of Measures

  • Requests to remove or modify content;

  • Visibility restrictions, warning labels, and access restrictions (age, region, or mode);

  • Feature restrictions (such as uploading, commenting, sharing, and conversation features);

  • Account warnings, temporary suspension, permanent suspension, or termination;

  • Monetization restrictions or withholding payouts (where necessary).

Repeated and Serious Violations

  • In the case of repeated or serious violations, Melting may take stronger measures and may restrict the user’s access to the service or terminate the account.

Provision of Information and Response to Legal Requests

Privacy and Data Protection Principles

  • Melting protects users’ personal information and does not provide users’ information to external parties except where legally required.

  • Even where data provision is necessary, Melting makes reasonable efforts to ensure that it is provided only within the minimum scope legally required.

Legal Requests and Emergency Situations

  • Melting may provide information, to the extent necessary, in response to lawful requests from law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, courts, and similar bodies.

  • In situations where harm is anticipated to be urgent (such as a serious risk to life or physical safety), Melting may take emergency measures in accordance with applicable laws and policies.

Amendments and Transitional Measures

Changes to the Guidelines

  • Melting may change these Guidelines to reflect changes in the service environment, technology, safety issues, and laws and regulations.

  • Where there is a material change, Melting may give advance notice through an in-service announcement or other reasonable means.

Effectiveness and Application

  • These Guidelines apply from the effective date.

  • Even for content created or conduct that occurred before the effective date, measures under these Guidelines may be applied where deemed necessary for the protection and safety of users.
