Can I Host My Videos with MemberVault?

MemberVault is a great place to host your video courses but there's a few things to consider before you begin.

The quick & easy answer.... yes. You can host your videos in MemberVault.

But there are a few things that you should know before you begin uploading your videos into your product's lessons:

  1. Any files uploaded to your File Area in a lesson can be downloaded by your members. This is intentional as the Lesson Files area is meant to share resources with your members/students.

  2. Our servers are intended for file storage and aren't optimized for video streaming. This means that the member's viewing experience may be less than desired when hosting your videos directly in MemberVault - especially for larger video files.

  3. The file limit for uploaded files is 2GB.

While you can host your videos in your MV account, for these reasons, we do suggest using a proper video hosting site such as Vimeo, YouTube or Wistia to host your videos.

From there, you can embed your videos directly into your product's modules or lessons. This route will protect your video content from being downloaded and provide a more ideal viewing experience for your members.
