A product's status determines how someone will be able to see your product on your MV Site and who will have access to view your product.
An Active Product is considered 'live'. This means members can be given access to the product either manually, by opt-in or purchase (depending on your set-up). This also means that the product will show on your public Marketplace and will also show within a member's account under their 'Available Products' section if they don't yet have access to the product in question.
An Inactive Product is essentially 'closed'. When a product is set as Inactive, it will not display on your Marketplace or under the 'Available Products' section within a member's account - meaning, they cannot gain access. While a product is set to Inactive, any members who previously had access would no longer be able to access the product. Setting a product to Inactive is best for products you've retired (or older versions of current products you want to save) and don't want anyone to access -- even members who signed up for this.
An Archived Product is considered 'hidden' and will not appear as active on your MV site. For people who have already purchased or bought your product, they will continue to retain access to this product even though it is hidden from all other members. Archived products cannot be signed up for -- if someone clicks on your signup link, they will be redirected to a form that says "this product is archived and cannot be signed up for."
An Invisible Product is also considered a 'hidden' product. These products do not show up on your Marketplace or within the 'Available Products' area of a member's account...BUT anyone who has access to the product link can still sign up for it, and anyone who already has access to the product will see it under their 'Owned Products' in your account. This product type is ideal if you want to actively sell the product but don't want it appearing publicly on your Marketplace.
Troubleshooting: My Product is marked as Active but still isn't showing as an available product?
If you've marked your product as Active but it's still showing as a hidden product and not being displayed on your Site's main page, double-check to make sure that you've assigned a Sign-Up Option.
Products that don't have a sign-up option assigned will not show as Available Products because there is no way for a person to gain access to it.
How to Update Your Product's Status:
The first setting you see under Product Information is Status. Using the drop down menu to select the Status option that suits your product & vision best.
