It's possible that over time you will need to revise or remove a file you've previously uploaded to one of your lessons.

This article shares the steps for doing both updating and deleting your uploaded files.

Update an Uploaded File:

  1. Open the lesson where the file you need to update has been previously uploaded and click 'edit' beside the specific file.

  2. The file uploader page will be displayed and you will see the current file's true name and extension displayed under the Current File field.

  3. Add the new file you wish to upload to replace the current file and then confirm your upload.

  4. Once the upload process is done, you will see a success message and the option to return to your lesson.

***We recommend ensuring that the file you are uploading has a different file name than the original file. This will help avoid any potential upload conflicts.

Important Note: replacing your uploaded file with a new file will cause the file link to change. If you've shared this direct file link anywhere, you'll want to ensure you update those links accordingly.

Deleting an Uploaded File:

  1. Follow Steps 1 & 2 as noted above.

  2. Scroll below the file upload box to display a "Delete {File Name}" option.

  3. Click on this option to expand the 'Delete' button (hidden to help avoid files being deleted by mistake).

  4. Click the 'Delete' button and then confirm your request one more time.

Once confirmed, the page will reload to your lesson and you will see that the file is no longer present.

Important Note: This process removes the file from your lesson so it's no longer accessible from within your lesson. However, if you've shared this direct file link anywhere, it may take up to 24hrs for the file to be removed from our server and for the link to expire.
