New Changes to Your Admin Area (Nov. 2021)

The new MemberVault Admin experience is being released on November 25th and we wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of the changes that are coming.

Our intention when building the new design was to focus on improving the visual aspect of the user interface while maintaining navigation and functionality.

Therefore, you should be able to continue to navigate the admin area as you did before with little to no concern.

We haven’t changed how the admin area functions - we’ve just…made it better! 😉

That said, there are a few small changes that we want you to be aware of aside from just the updated look:

Admin area branding

All accounts will have the same admin color scheme now. In the past, you did have the ability to update the colors/branding of your admin area which was leftover from our REALLY old design that we deprecated quite some time ago.

You still have FULL control over how your MV Site appears for your users but everyone’s admin area will now look the same (except the logo if you’ve added your own).

This was an important change for usability and accessibility and one that improves the platform’s foundation and what we can build in the future.

However, if you would still prefer to customize your own admin area, you can still do so in by applying your own CSS to the Custom Admin CSS area in your account settings (Settings > General > Advanced > Custom Admin CSS).

Changes to terminology

We also took this opportunity to change a few terms on the product edit screen that caused confusion for users. These updates were based on user feedback and we hope they help to communicate the purpose of some areas more clearly.

  • Welcome Message --> Product Overview Text

  • Teaser Message --> Promo Text

  • Thank You Message --> Sign Up Confirmation

Bonus Products

The ability to set a Product’s Type to ‘Bonus Product’ has been removed. In short, Bonus Products were previously a way of letting someone earn a product via EP before we introduced our Actions Feature.

Now that Actions are able to grant product access in a much more flexible manner, the need for Bonus Products as a Product Type became obsolete (and our reports show that only a few accounts were making use of the option).

Now instead of having to make a product a Bonus Product, you can simply set up an action that grants access to a particular product when a user reaches a set number of EP (or any other desired milestone).

If you were one of the accounts still using Bonus Products, don’t worry - we automatically made this change for you and you will now find your product under the Hidden Available Products area on your Products page.

Just a few small changes to be aware of but other than those, we’ve just made the admin area more modern, cleaner and faster.

We’ve reduced some clutter and improved the mobile experience for those who like to build and manage their products on the fly. The new & improved admin design is also packed full of little tweaks and improvements that are certain to enhance your experience as an account owner!

We’re pleased to say that we’ve put this new admin design to some strong testing with great success so we are confident that your transition will be just as seamless.
