Adding Alt text in Your MemberVault Content

Alt text describes your images for anyone using a screen reader, which makes your site more accessible. It also helps search engines contextualize your images and include them in search results from people looking for the type of content you create.

You can add the Alt text to the following places:

Product Settings, Blog Settings, Blog posts, Image Uploads, Community Banner, and Community CTA (Call to Action) images.

ADDING ALT TEXT TO YOUR PRODUCT SETTINGS

Go to Content > Products then click on the pencil icon to access your Product Settings. Scroll a bit further down until you find the ‘Product Image Alt Text' area. This is where you can describe your product image and give it more context.


ADDING ALT TEXT TO YOUR MODULE SETTINGS

You can add alt text to your module image and you can find this option inside your Module Settings area:


​This is where you can let people know what they can expect to learn in a particular module.


ADDING ALT TEXT TO YOUR BLOG SETTINGS

Go to Settings > Blog > Sidebar Settings and scroll a bit until you find the Logo Alt Text under the CTA Image. Here, you can add the alternative description for your image:


ADDING ALT TEXT TO YOUR COMMUNITIES


There are 2 different places where you'll find the option to add alt text to your images.

The first one is for your community banner image. You can find this by going to Content > Communities > Header Settings:

You can also add the alt text to your Sidebar Settings which is located just below the Header Settings area. Here, you'll have the ability to add an alternative description for your CTA image:


ADDING ALT TEXT FOR YOUR IMAGES

Our image upload feature also enables you to set an alt text for all the images that you add to your MV account. This includes products, modules, communities, posts, pages, settings, etc.
