Apple Device Buying Guide
Short Advice
The MemoryShare App is only available for Apple devices. (iPad, iPhone)
We highly recommend a dedicated iPad or iPhone for streaming. The device should have a minimum of 64GB of storage.
Cellular Data or Wifi is required to live stream. Cellular Data required for Graveside services.
If you're purchasing a dedicated streaming device, get the latest iPad or iPhone model.
iPhone's have a significantly better camera compared to iPads.
Long Advice
đ To Use the Memory Share App, we require Apple iOS devices. Apple devices must be able to receive regular software updates. We recommend the latest hardware for the highest production value.
đŹ We recommend a dedicated Apple device for streaming. You want a device all your employees can use and one with ample storage for services and streaming.
đ» We recommend Apple devices with a minimum of 64GB of storage. Video files are large. A 64GB iPad can store 6-8 services before you need to make more space to record. A device with larger storage capacity is best for streaming.
đ±We support any device that runs IOS 17 or later. However, if you're purchasing a new device we strongly recommend choosing from one of the options below.
Device Recommendations
Minimum requirements: iOS 17 (or later), 64GB of storage, and a USB-C connector. Every Apple device released in 2024 or later meets all three automatically. Apple's entire current lineup switched to USB-C, and no 2024-or-later iPad or iPhone ships with less than 128GB.

â A device with a data connection is highly recommended for graveside and outdoor streaming. Hotspots can be extremely unreliable. If you purchase a Hotspot, be sure it has a minimum of 3.0mbps upload speed.

Audio
Extra audio devices are not required. An external microphone can help reduce wind for outdoor recording.
Wireless Microphone
We recommend the DJI mics, because they are easy to use. The mics plug directly into the USB-C port, auto turn on, and automatically connect.
Accessories
A few inexpensive extras go a long way toward keeping your device stream-ready. A screen protector keeps fingerprints, dust, and scratches off the display through repeated handling on event day. A fast charger a 20W or higher USB-C power adapter keeps your device topped off between recordings so you're never caught with a low battery mid-stream. And a simple microfiber cloth is the fastest way to wipe smudges off the camera lens and screen right before you start recording, so your footage stays clear and your display stays legible.
