The Mentionlytics MCP Connector allows you to connect your Mentionlytics data to LLMs and AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
MCP is an open standard that enables AI systems to securely interact with external tools and data sources via a shared protocol.
Once connected, your AI can analyze Mentionlytics data alongside the rest of your marketing stack, including CRM platforms, analytics tools, campaign data, and more. Instead of checking multiple dashboards separately, you can ask questions in natural language and get contextual answers based on all connected systems.
What You Need Before You Start
Before setting up the Mentionlytics MCP Connector, make sure you have:
An active Mentionlytics account
API access enabled in your plan (available in Pro and higher-tier plans)
An MCP-compatible AI tool
Your Mentionlytics API tokens
Supported AI environments include:
ChatGPT
Claude
Copilot
other MCP-compatible AI tools
How to Connect Mentionlytics MCP with Your Preferred AI Model
To get started, you’ll need an AI tool that supports MCP connections, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or another MCP-compatible AI platform. Then, follow the steps below.
1. Generate Your Unique Mentionlytics MCP URL
Each LLM has its unique system of connecting to MCP, but for all of them, you’re going to need the Mentionlytics MCP URL that acts as the bridge between your AI assistant and your social listening data.
So, the basic MCP URL is: https://mcp.mentionlytics.com/mcp?token={AccessToken}
The “AccessToken” part from the URL should be replaced with the Access Token you get from your account under Settings → API/Access Tokens → Access Tokens
Example:
Generate your token by clicking the New Token button. Make sure to save it securely, and then use this token in the URL.
If your Access Token were a9f879XXXXXXXXXX , the Mentionlytics MCP URL would be: https://mcp.mentionlytics.com/mcp?token=a9f879XXXXXXXXXX
Note: To create a token, you need to have API access, which is available to Pro, Business, and Enterprise plan users.
2. Connect Your Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot with Mentionlytics
Most MCP-supported platforms already provide a straightforward way to plug in external servers, but here are the steps for connecting the marketers’ most commonly used AI tools:
How to Plug in Your Mentionlytics to Claude
To connect Claude and Mentionlytics via MCP, you can open your Claude and click on: Profile → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connect.
You can name your connector (Mentionlytics, for example), and add a previously generated unique Mentionlytics MCP URL under the Remote MCP server URL.
How to Plug in Your Mentionlytics to ChatGPT
If your preferred LLM is ChatGPT, go to the Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
Once you enter the Apps, you’ll need to toggle on Developer mode, then click the Create app button that appears after you turn the developer mode on.
After clicking the Create app button, a pop-up will appear on your screen. Fill in the fields with the required information and paste the previously generated Mentionlytics MCP URL.
Once you do that, toggle on the option labeled “I understand and want to continue”, and the Create button will become clickable.
Click Create, and you’re connected.
You can use the connection if you mention it within the chat using @ and choosing Mentionlytics MCP.
How to Plug in Your Mentionlytics to Copilot Studio
If your preferred AI is Copilot Studio, the process is a bit different than the other two LLMs:
Go to the Agents’ page and select an existing agent or create a new one by clicking Create a blank agent.
Open the Tools tab, and click on the Add tools option.
In the tab that opens, click Add new MCP.
In the next window, add a name and a description for your connection (for example: Mentionlytics, social listening insights), and for the Server URL, add https://mcp.mentionlytics.com/mcp.
That’s the main difference between Copilot and the other two LLMs we covered: the URL and Tokens are separated.
Then, for Identity verification, add the API Key option with the Query type and click Create.
In the next window, click Not Connected → Create a new connection.
In the window that asks for a token, enter the Access Token you created in Mentionlytics, then click Create.
To finalize the process, click Add and configure parameters. After that, the agent should have access to the data provided by the Mentionlytics MCP.
To activate the connection of the MCP with the agent, you need to select Connection Management, and in the new tab, click Login and Submit the connection that you have just created.
3. Start Querying Your Data Without Writing Code
Once the connection with Mentionlytics and other tools is established, you can start interacting with your AI model, asking complex questions that require datasets from multiple tools.
For example, you can ask:
“Why did sentiment drop this week?”
“What was the effect of our last campaign in terms of leads and conversions?”
“How did people react to our last campaign?”
“What caused the positive trend in conversion?”
AI pulls data directly from Mentionlytics, your CRM, Google Ads, and Google Analytics, interprets it, and gives you an answer.
