Hand in Hand Family Mentorship

Hand in Hand Family Mentorship is an Idaho-based nonprofit that “builds bridges of hope” by pairing caring community volunteers with individuals and families navigating challenging circumstances. The team believes that one genuine friendship can spark lasting change and self-reliance for a parent or caregiver. Rather than providing professional therapy, mentors simply show up, listen, and walk beside their mentees—helping them tap their own strengths instead of trying to “fix” them.

Referrals arrive from community agencies, shelters, and faith groups, ensuring support reaches those who most need a relational safety net. Prospective mentors complete a brief online application, submit a reference, sign a confidentiality/ethics agreement, and finish an interview-based training course on healthy helping. Several open opportunities are posted across Idaho, and volunteers can join the email list to stay informed and step in where friendship is needed most.
