It's clear that Mercator.ai has a lot of available data, but the key is leveraging it efficiently to maximize its potential. If you're a Subcontractor, start by optimizing these filters to streamline your focus.

Select your Focus: where does it make sense to start?

Sectors allow you to include and exclude

  • By default, we recommend excluding the residential sector to remove any instances of single family projects

Keywords can also be used to refine sectors of interest

  • Keywords search everything that is found within the project page, including address, company, and description of past project stages

Refine your search by layering focuses:

  • Latest Stage + Work Type. If you know who you want to connect with on what type of work (new construction only, for example), but are indifferent about what’s being built.

  • Latest Stage + Sector. If you know who you want to connect with on a specifiic market sector, but are indifferent about if it’s an renovation, tenant improvement, or new construction, for example.

  • Work Type + Sector. If you know what type of work and type of building product you’re interested in, but are indifferent about when you find out about the project.

  • Latest Stage + Work Type + Sector. If you know who you want to connect with on what type of work (new construction only, for example), and only want to focus in on specific market sectors.

    • 🚧 Pro Tip: Check step 4 to see which Filters pair best with which Latest Stages.
