We create a profile for every team member that you add to your Mercu account. By default, each team member's profile includes the team member's first name and mobile number.

However, you can add additional attributes to your team members' profiles, including native attributes and custom attributes.

Native attributes include:

  • Phone Number

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Employee ID

  • Role (e.g. Front of House)

  • Location (e.g. New York City)

  • Type (e.g. full-time/part-time/casual)

  • Start date/time

  • Interview date/time

To learn how to create custom attributes, please check out this article.

There are 2 ways to update team member profiles and their details:

  1. Via the Web UI

  2. Via Bulk Upload

Via Web UI

To update a team member's attributes via the Mercu web UI, follow these steps:

  1. From the sidebar, navigate to the 'People' page.

  2. Click on the team member whose details you would like to update.

  3. Click on 'Edit' and update details as required.

Alternatively, you can search for the team member via their name in the search bar and then click on the Edit button.

NOTE: If a team member is enrolled in multiple locations, remember to navigate between each location tab to update 'role' and 'type' accordingly.

Updating team member profiles via the bulk uploader

To update team members' profile attributes via bulk upload, you will need to prepare a sheet with the data you wish to populate. A template of a sheet can be found here.

The bulk uploader will use the phone number as the unique identifier of a team member. Any mapped fields with a value will be updated with whatever new value is provided via bulk upload.

A location ID must be specified for each team member.

To update a custom attribute, you will need to create a column in your sheet whose header matches the name of your custom attribute.

NOTE: If a custom attribute is specified as a column, its value will be updated for all team members, including blanks. If you have specified a team member whose custom attribute you do not wish to update, include the existing value of that attribute in the relevant cell.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the 'People' page and select the 'Invite Team Member' button on the top right-hand side of the page.

  2. Drop in your CSV file or paste table data into the bulk uploader.

  3. In the 'Map Columns' stage, be sure to map each column of your spreadsheet to the template fields. At a minimum, you must provide first name, last name, phone number and location ID. You do not need to map custom attributes.

  4. Verify your data and submit.
