Mercu allows candidates to apply for multiple roles at the same time.
However, there are limitations to the way that we handle multiple concurrent applications.
Queuing Logic for Multiple Applications
When you add the same candidate (with the same phone number) to multiple jobs, the stages from each job will be added to the queue.
This means that although they will only receive the stage one at a time, they are able to go through the flow for both jobs concurrently.
To illustrate this, take the following example:
Two jobs are set up, one for a Sydney location and the other for a Melbourne location.
The same candidate - let's call him Dwight - applies for both jobs via a job board.
The hiring manager then adds Dwight to Mercu, first adding his details to the Sydney job location, and then to the Melbourne location.
Dwight will immediately begin receiving messages from the first stage in the Sydney job.
If the hiring manager moves Dwight's application between any stages for the job that is not first in the stack, the "Queued" status will appear on the application card, as shown below.
Once the first stage in the Sydney job is complete, he will receive the first stage in the Melbourne job.
Note: Given this mechanism, it is important to archive any applications to a queued job before archiving the live job application if the candidate has been rejected from all jobs.
This mechanism is in place due to our single channel WhatsApp and SMS-driven message delivery.
Unlike our core product, which uses the Web UI to deliver chat-based content through the browser, we can only support one thread at any given time when using Mercu Hire.
Archiving Applications
To archive a candidate from a job application, simply select the checkbox on their application card, and click the trash can icon to archive them.
You can select multiple individuals to archive them all at once.
Alternatively, you can archive all existing applications from a candidate by navigating to their profile page, and selecting "Archive Candidate".
