In addition to creating interview timeslots in Mercu, we also provide a mechanism to allow hiring managers notify candidates when a interview needs to be cancelled.

There are two entry points to cancelling an interview:

  1. Through the Agenda View

  2. Through Interview Settings

Cancelling a Timeslot through Agenda View

First, you will need to head into a job, and switch to the agenda view.

For the timeslot that you'd like to cancel, click on the meatballs icon and select one of the two options presented:

  1. Ask to Reschedule Session

    1. This will notify candidates and prompt them to book in a new interview timeslot.

  2. Cancel Session

    1. This will notify candidates with a booking in that session that their interview has been cancelled and that they are no longer able to rebook a new time.

You can preview (but not edit) these notification messages after you choose the corresponding cancellation action.

Cancelling a Timeslot through Job Settings

The second entry point to cancelling a booked session is through the interview settings page for the respective stage.

NOTE: This is only possible if the availability configuration is set as 'Specific Dates'.

For the interview timeslot that you'd like to cancel, tap on the meatballs icon and select the cancellation option you'd like to choose.

  1. Ask to Reschedule Session

    1. This will notify candidates and prompt them to book in a new interview timeslot.

  2. Cancel Session

    1. This will notify candidates with a booking in that session that their interview has been cancelled and that they are no longer able to rebook a new time.

  3. Remove Session & Keep Existing Bookings

    1. This will remove the timeslot for any future candidates but will not affect any existing bookings made.
