There are three ways for creating applications in Mercu:

  1. Via our 'Add Candidates' feature

  2. Via the 'Apply Link' feature

  3. Via our job board integrations' (coming in late 2024)

Via 'Add Candidates' feature

Go to the relevant job once it was fully set up. Click on 'Add Candidates' in the side nav. There are two options: 'Bulk Upload' and 'Add Individually'.

Bulk upload

For 'Bulk Upload' you can use any excel, Google Sheets, or csv file, as long as it has the following four columns:

  1. First name

  2. Last name

  3. Phone number (including +{{prefix}}; example: +61406810267)

  4. Target job stage (refers to the target job stage in which you want to create the column; this is a running number: 1 for 1st stage; 2 for 2nd stage, etc)

Once you upload the file with these four columns, you'll be able to use the 'Bulk Upload' mapping tool to map the columns from your sheet to the relevant columns in Mercu.

Add individually

For 'Add Individually', you can just create the candidate individually using first name, last name, phone number (including +{{prefix}}; example: +61406810267), and selecting the target job stage.

Via 'Apply Link'

The 'Apply Link' is a job-specific URL that you can enable to host a job-specific apply page. On this apply page, candidates enter their first name, last name, and phone number. Thereafter, they can continue with their application either via WhatsApp or SMS.

You can add the 'Apply Link' to your careers page, social media accounts, in-venue QR codes, and anywhere else where you source candidates from.

To enable the 'Apply Link', go to the relevant job > 'Edit Job' > 'Apply Link' > toggle the 'Apply Link' on.

Once enabled, you can configure the 'Apply Link':

  • Application Channels: This sets the channels via which candidates can submit their application. You can enable WhatsApp AND SMS (default) OR just WhatsApp OR just SMS.

  • Target Job Stage: This sets the target job stage in which the application for the respective candidate will be created.

Via job board integrations

This is a feature that is currently in development. We're aiming to deliver this feature by the end of 2024.

This feature will allow you to post jobs to leading job boards from Mercu and automatically have candidates funnelled back into Mercu from the job board(s) you posted to.

In the meantime, there are two ways for creating job board applicants in Mercu: Either by downloading their details from the job board and uploading it to Mercu or by sending them the Apply Link after they apply on the job board.
