Advanced Deals are a powerful way to manage and trade shifts in a flexible and organized manner. Below are some common use cases and questions to help you better understand how this feature works.

Please note that you can not make a deal for past shifts. You will get an error sign as shown below:

Can I offer the same shift to several people at the same time?

Yes, you can offer the same shift to multiple people simultaneously by creating separate Advanced Deals for each of them. This is especially useful when you're unsure who will be available or most likely to accept.

When you create multiple deals for the same shift:

  • Each recipient will see the offer as if it was only sent to them.

  • The system will keep all the deals open until one of them is accepted.

  • Once one person accepts the trade, the system will automatically cancel the other pending deals for that shift, preventing double booking.

What happens with the other trades of the same shift when one person accepts it?

They automatically dissapear from the Bazaar once someone accepts the shift.

Can I cancel a trade that was offered or proposed to me?

Yes, simply click on "View deal" in the Bazaar tab. After that, click on "Cancel Deal".

What happens if I never accept the trade?

The system will not assign the shift to the proposed recipients. The shift will be empty.

Make sure to check the Bazaar to see the available deals whether they are simple or advanced. You can filter per-shift or associates. If you want to take someone's shifts, simply click on "Take this shift".

The system will always double check when you are about to take someone's shift. Make sure to click "Ok" to finish the deal.

Only approved deals take effect:

A deal will only go into effect once it has been accepted by the recipient and approved by all necessary parties (if approvals are required). If approval is not completed, the shift swap will not be processed, and the original ownership remains unchanged.

What Is a Package Deal?

A Package Deal allows you to bundle multiple shifts together and offer them as a single unit. This means that other associates can only accept the entire group of shifts, not just one. It’s ideal for ensuring full coverage across connected shifts, such as weekend bundles or consecutive days.

This option is available within Open Advanced Deals and helps keep the trade process clean and organized.

Proposed Advanced Deals: The Most Flexible Option

For even more control, Proposed Advanced Deals let you tailor shift swaps between specific team members. Every participant in the deal must approve for the trade to be finalized. If your team requires admin approval, the final step will involve admin confirmation as well.

This method supports negotiation, collaboration, and oversight, ensuring deals meet everyone's needs.

A Few Additional Notes:

  • Web-Only Feature: Advanced Deals (including package deals and counter offers) are currently available only through the web version of the platform.

  • Activity Log: We're actively working to improve the activity log related to Advanced Deals for better visibility.

  • Admin Capabilities: Yes, admins can initiate deals on behalf of associates, offering an extra layer of support and flexibility.
