Supervision Mode is a new scheduling option that allows you to assign two associates to the same shift, ideal for situations where a supervised or secondary role is required. This feature gives organizations greater flexibility and visibility when coordinating shared responsibilities.
How to Enable Supervision Mode
You can activate Supervision Mode directly from your organization’s settings:
Go to Team Settings.
Navigate to the Shifts tab.
You will see a new option labeled “Allow second job and associate”.
Simply check the box to enable it for that shift type.
Once enabled, the shift type will now support two assigned associates.
Assigning Two Associates to a Shift
After enabling Supervision Mode, the schedule view will change accordingly:
When creating or publishing a new shift, you will now see two assignment slots (as shown in the image).
Each slot can be assigned to different associates, and each one can hold different job positions.
Once both associates are assigned, the shift will appear as follows (image):
Both roles are displayed clearly.
Each slot is considered a separate shift for counting and reporting purposes.
Filtering Shifts
In the Advanced Filters, you can now select:
Primary Associate
Secondary Associate
This helps you narrow down the schedule based on each role within the supervised shift.
Draft Mode View
If you are working on a draft schedule with Supervision Mode enabled, the shift will appear with two slots as well. This ensures consistency whether you are in planning mode or updating live schedules.
Editing Shifts
These two-associate shifts can also be edited using the new Mass Edit tool, making it easy to adjust large numbers of supervised shifts quickly.
Remember:
You can enable this option for specific shifts only.
Afterward, you can disable it again for shift types that don’t require a secondary associate.
Deals and Trading
Currently:
Deals can only be created with primary associates.
Secondary associates are not supported in the Deals feature yet.
Shift Colors
The color of the shift will always reflect the first job position (the primary role). This maintains consistency across the schedule.
Autoscheduler Behavior
When using the Autoscheduler with two-slot shifts:
The system will generate two separate recommendations, one for each role.
You will also receive individual flags for any overlapping shifts or conflicts, as each slot is treated independently.
