Web v2.17.0 β Meshaging Made Easier for You
New Features
New MESHAGE System
Introducing a new conversation system with support for private and group chats, including multi-line markdown messages, file/image attachments, voice notes, and system messages for key events.
Added rich in-chat tools so users can edit messages, delete them non-destructively, react with emojis, and reply directly to specific messages to keep context clear.
Enabled embedded entity references in messages, allowing users to mention people with @ and link entities with $ (e.g., teams, shifts, requests, deals) with interactive cards that respect user permissions.
Redesigned conversations experience accessible from the navigation bar, where users can start new conversations (individual or group), search, and manage their chats using advanced audience selection.
Added conversation settings to manage group details (name, avatar), membership (add/remove), roles, and pinning so key conversations remain easy to find.
Conversation lists now clearly show avatars, last message preview, unread counts, read status, and recent activity to help users quickly scan what needs attention.
In-conversation search and improved scrolling make it easier to jump to relevant messages and follow replies without losing context.
Permissions and visibility rules ensure users only see content they are allowed to access, with history behavior tuned so message visibility aligns with when a user joined a conversation.
Attachment handling has been tightened to present files and images more clearly while blocking unsafe types and restricting access to conversation participants.
Real-time messaging behavior (unread tracking, last-read updates, WebSocket reliability, and mobile token-based connections) has been strengthened to keep conversations in sync across devices.
