The functionality of deals is easy to understand. The following flowchart shows the behavior of different deals:

Once a member hits "Make Deal" on the shift they wish to trade, they can choose to offer that shift directly to another member (and use the listed recommendations to select the best member for that shift), or they can offer to anyone.

Once they hit "Create" in the deal creation window, the shift will be listed in the bazaar. If the shift was offered directly to another member, only that member will see the shift appear in their bazaar. Otherwise, all members will be notified that there is a shift in the bazaar for them to pick up.

From the shift bazaar, a member can choose to pick up the listed shift. If admin approval is not required, the new member will be updated automatically in the schedule, and the member who offered the shift will be notified

If admin approval is needed, the admin will receive a notification that there is a deal that requires their approval.

If the admin chooses to approve the deal, (by navigating to "Current Deals" and hitting Approve), then the new member will be automatically updated in the calendar, and both the old and new assignees will be notified that the deal is complete.

If the admin does not approve the deal, it will go back into the bazaar if the shift was offered to anyone. If the shift was offered to one specific member, they will need to choose a new member to offer the shift to in order to re-list the shift in the bazaar.
