Managing shifts with your colleagues is handled through the Mesh AI Bazaar. Whether you need to swap a shift or give one away, the system follows a clear logic to ensure everyone stays updated and shifts are covered fairly.
To help you understand how the system processes various requests, the following flowchart illustrates the specific logic and behavior of different deal types.
1. Starting a Deal
To begin, a member selects "Make Deal" on a shift in their calendar. They have two options for how to offer it:
Direct Offer: The shift is sent to one specific person. Members can use the system's recommendations to find the best colleague for that specific shift.
Open Offer: The shift is offered to anyone on the team.
Once the member clicks "Create," the shift is listed in the Bazaar. If it was a Direct Offer, only the chosen person will see it. If it was an Open Offer, the entire team is notified that a shift is available to pick up.
2. Accepting a Shift
From the Bazaar, a colleague can choose to "Pick Up" the listed shift. What happens next depends on your team’s specific settings:
Scenario A: Admin Approval NOT Required
Scenario A: Admin Approval NOT Required
The schedule updates automatically.
The person who offered the shift is notified immediately that the trade is complete.
Scenario B: Admin Approval IS Required
Scenario B: Admin Approval IS Required
The administrator receives a notification that a deal is pending.
The admin reviews the request under the "Current Deals" section.
3. The Admin’s Decision
The final status of the shift depends on the administrator's action:
If Approved: The calendar updates automatically with the new member. Both the original owner and the new assignee receive a confirmation notification.
If Denied:
Open Offers: The shift goes back into the Bazaar for other team members to pick up.
Direct Offers: The shift is returned to the original owner, who must then select a new member to re-list the shift.
