A Request is how you communicate your work preferences or requirements before a schedule is built. Most commonly, physicians use Requests to book vacations, time off, or specific shift preferences. While typically submitted by members, administrators can also submit requests on a member’s behalf.
To ensure your preferences are included in the upcoming schedule, please submit all requests before the scheduling process begins.
While your team may use custom categories, common request types include:
Vacation: Extended time away.
Require Off: Mandatory time off (non-negotiable).
Prefer Off / Prefer On: Shift preferences that help administrators understand your ideal schedule.
These categories help your administrator prioritize and categorize your needs during the scheduling process.
Adding Requests from the web 💻
Navigate to your My Calendar page (recommended).
Click or drag to select the date(s) for your request.
Follow the prompts in the pop-up to submit.
4. In the request pop-up, choose whether your request applies to the entire organization or only to specific teams. You have two options:
All Teams: This applies your request to every team within the organization where you are eligible to work. If you belong to multiple teams, they will all be included by default.
Specific Teams: Choose exactly which team(s) should receive your request. You will see a list of all teams where you are currently available to work during those dates.
5. Next, select your Request Type from the dropdown menu. Once selected, the Approval Status will appear.
Note: If your request requires approval from multiple teams, a separate approval section will be shown for each. This ensures that every relevant team lead can review and manage your request.
If your request requires approval, it will stay in a Pending state until reviewed. Once you're ready, click 'Submit request' to finish.
Need to make a change? You can edit a request anytime by clicking it on your calendar and selecting the Edit button.
Adding requests on the mobile app📱
Submit requests on the go with the Mesh AI mobile app.
Once logged in, simply tap the blue (+) button in the bottom-right corner of your calendar to get started.
2. Fill in the details: Pick your team and dates, then select a Request Type.
Look for the Approval Status to see if your request needs further review.
3. To complete your request, tap “Save” in the top-right corner.
Admins
Open the Team Calendar for the relevant group
Select the date or date range for the member
Click the 'Associate Request' button to begin the setup
4. Enter Details: Fill in the team member's request information.
5. Set Status: Choose to submit the request as Approved or Pending.
6. Update Anytime: You can change the status of any team member’s request at any time by clicking the request on the Team Calendar.
Note: Administrative request management is currently a web-only feature.
To create or approve requests for other team members, please log in to the Mesh AI web application. This functionality is not available on the mobile app.
