Requests are work preferences and/or requirements made by members (or by an administrator on behalf of a member) before scheduling occurs. Because requests are used to plan an upcoming period, they should be made before scheduling occurs.
Your team may have custom request types, but some examples of what you may see are Vacation requests, Require Off requests, Prefer Off, or Prefer On requests. These tell administrators what the purpose of the request is.
Adding Requests from the web π»
To submit a request via the web application, click any date range (or click the single date) you wish to create a request for. We recommend doing this from your My Calendar page, but it can also be done from a team calendar.
In the request popup that appears, you can select if you wish to make this request for an entire organization, or if you only want to request in one or more specific teams. There are two options here:
All teams - A request will be made in any team in the selected organization that you are able to be scheduled in at the time of the request. If you are a member of multiple teams at the time of the request then you will be requesting in both teams by default.
Some teams - You may select the team or teams you wish to make a request in from the list of teams you are available to work in during the time of the request.
Next, you will select the request type from the list provided. Once the request type is selected you will see the approval status appear for your request. Regardless of whether the request is in all teams in the organization or only some, you will see one or more approval sections appear - one for each team your request requires approval in.
If your requests require administrator approval, you will see the default state set to pending. Once you have finished configuring your request, you can press "Submit request" and your request will be officially created!
Note that you can always edit your own requests after they have been created by clicking on the request in your calendar and clicking the edit button.
Adding requests on the mobile appπ±
You can easily add requests on the go through the MeshAI mobile app. Start by logging into the app and tapping the blue plus button in the bottom-right corner of the calendar page.
Next, select the team for your request and fill in the details, including dates and request type. After selecting a request type, the approval status will appear.
To complete your request, tap βSaveβ in the top-right corner.
Administrators
To create new requests for a member, start by navigating to the team you wish to make the request in. Click on a date or select a date range on the team calendar or schedule, and click 'Associate Request'.
In the popup that appears, you may fill out the information of the request and choose to set an approval status right away, or you can leave the request as pending and submit.
Note that you may also modify, approve, and/or deny any of your team members' requests by clicking on their request and changing the approval status.
Note that this functionality is only available on the web app. You cannot add requests for other members as an admin on mobile apps.
