Why Can't I Download My Model

Find out why model downloads are not available on the Free plan, which Meshy plans include downloads, and how to upgrade to unlock your 3D models.

There are two types of issues that can cause download problems: ones related to your subscription, and ones related to browser/technical issues. Here's how to identify which applies to you:

Subscription

1. Downloads not included on the Free plan

Models generated using Meshy 6 or Meshy 7 cannot be downloaded on the Free plan. If you click Download and hit a paywall, you'll need to upgrade your subscription.

Note: if you created privately licensed models while on a paid plan, you can still download those models an unlimited number of times — even after downgrading to Free. More info on the Free plan here.

2. Exceeding the Starter plan download limit

The Starter plan includes 20 downloads per month, which reset on your billing cycle date — not the calendar month. For example, if you subscribed to the Starter plan on June 12th, you'll receive 20 downloads for the period from June 12th to July 12th. Once your plan renews on July 12th, you'll receive another 20 downloads for the next cycle.

Note: models created using advanced features, such as multi-color printing, are not included in this download quota. More info on the Starter plan here.

3. Paid but still can't download

The most likely reason is that you purchased a Meshy credits package rather than a subscription — credit packages don't include download access on their own.

To check this, look at whether your account still shows as being on the Free plan:

  • If yes, you'll need to upgrade to a paid subscription to unlock downloads.

  • If no (you already have a paid subscription) but downloads still don't work, contact support@meshy.ai with the email address used for payment.

Browser/Technical Issues

1. Browser or extension interference

Some browser extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools, VPNs) can interfere with downloads. Try the following:

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Disable any browser extensions that might block downloads.

  • Try a different browser (e.g., Chrome or Edge) to see if the issue persists.

2. Server error when downloading

If you see a server error when clicking Download:

  • Refresh the page, or try another browser, and try again.

  • Wait a few minutes and retry — this is usually a temporary issue.

3. Files missing from your download (e.g., PBR textures)

If your downloaded zip is missing textures or PBR maps:

  • Make sure the PBR toggle was enabled during the texturing step.

  • Re-run texturing with PBR enabled, then download again.

4. A specific file format (e.g, STL) won't download

Try the following:

  • Open the page in an incognito/private window and attempt the download again.

  • Try downloading a different format instead, such as .obj, which tends to be the most stable format.

If the issue persists, please share the model link with us so we can take a closer look.
