The ice gel packs we use in your cooler box consist of a non-toxic, water-soluble polymer in a plastic pouch. They are made of high quality, non-toxic materials but are not intended for human consumption. They are not intended to be applied to the body.

We're currently working on a solution to re-freeze ice packs so we can continue to reduce packaging waste.

Below are a few more recommendations for the reuse or disposal of your ice packs:

  • The gels packs as a whole or just the gel may be disposed of in landfills according to local and state laws. Do not put the gel down the drain as it might cause a clog.

  • They may be frozen in household freezers and used in lunch boxes or ice chests to keep perishables refrigerated.

  • The plastic bag (LDPE) may then be thrown in the garbage or recycle bin.

  • Gel packs may be donated to local food banks or shared with friends and family.
